Introduction
The Department of History, L. S. College, Muzaffarpur since its inception in 1899 has remained academically at par with its counterparts with other premier universities of the country. It has set the benchmarks both in the teaching and research activities and had luminous faculty members who not only shaped the trends of historiography but also the destiny of India in pre and post independent period. Its faculty member included Rajendra Prasad, J. B. Kripalani, Y. J. Taraporwala, Jyotirmoy Sen, H. R. Ghoshal, Sitaram Singh and other and they have indelible stamp in their respective fields of specialization. In the contemporary context, it has kept itself abreast with the new trends in historical discourse and methodology which is reflected in the details given below.
